President’s Statement – AGM 14th November

Ampthill & District Community RFC

AGM – 14.11.16

President’s Statement

Many thanks for asking me to remain in post for another year. I would like to thank all the players and coaches for all age groups from Under 6’s through to the First XV squad for all their efforts in the past year to make this the best rugby club in the country.

At senior level I would like thank the Director of Rugby, Mark Lavery; the coach, Paul Turner; the physio, Michael Dwyer; the manager, Ian Bremner and last but not least Warren Kaye for sitting out in all weathers videoing the matches.

Many thanks to all the committee members for all their efforts in the past 18 months, especially those who are standing down at this AGM, your experience will be sorely missed.

I would also like to thank Keith Belcher for his sterling work as Bar Steward and all the bar staff. I welcome Louise as the new Bar Steward along with her family.

Many thanks to Jane and her team for all the catering during the week and at weekends.

Martin Wythe has been responsible for ensuring a great playing surface on all four pitches and the installation of a new soak away and I wish to thank him for all his efforts, ably assisted by Paul and Dominic New.

Cliff Page and Lyn Palmer have done a magnificent job in putting all club members details on the computer and getting all the Direct Debits sorted out – a great deal of time and effort went into that and I thank you both for that.

Pat Sherry
