After a lazy start on their last outing the 4s new they had to start strong.
Kicking off into BBOB’s facing a strong low level sun allowed for early pressure with quickly recycled ball seeing Woody cross the line within the first couple of minutes. This seemed to wake BBOB’s who fought back strongly and from repeated Ampthill infringements while defending against the BBOB’s line-out mall slowly worked their way up the pitch. Luckily when BBOB reached the Ampthill 22 Jack “7foot” Adamson decided to make the most of being 7foot and disrupted the lineout.
The A’s eventually managed to sneak a couple of tries as play swayed back and forth from BBOB penalties and Ampthill half breaks. This included regular scorer Josh Macmillian again crossing the line from a well-timed offload.
BBOB’s again managed to claim territory from penalty’s and good hands led to a charge over on the left wing for a try of their own, but other than this they seemed to be tiring and the A’s score rate began to increase.
Unfortunately late in the first half saw 2 enforced changes to the line-up when George “Blood bin” Adamson again had to take his place being patched up at the side of the pitch, and Lewis’s boot falling in half saw him off trying to trade it with any of the subs.
Half time allowed for some of the impact players to take the field including power Pez and Chunky Cheadle, a couple of good links between Jones at 8 and Watson at 6 lead to Watson scoring his 3rd and limping from the pitch with a horribly torn vagina leaving Woody in charge.
BBOB’s then launched a strong fight back pinning the A’s on their line before barging over for a try, this appeared to of been their final swing as try’s then came in quick successions for the rest of the game.
The most notable of these were Prop Pez taking a ball on half way and grubbering to within the BBOB 22, unfortunately for Pez centre Robbie overtook Pez and the chasing defence, grubbered to the line picked up and stole his score to boo’s from the crowd who had been so impressed to see Pez run half the pitch. And Young Harry scoring his first senior try, and also his first try in 2 years as BBOB’s fired a clearance kick his way which he caught nicely rounding the defence to run in the corner, and strangely got up cool as a cucumber ignoring the wild celebrations of the crowd.
