2015-16 Disciplinary Record
Dear Coach or Manager
Ampthill RUFC have collected five red cards this season between the senior and youth sections, four for the senior section and one for the youth section.
As a result the club was ordered to appear before an RFU Disciplinary panel which has the power to penalise the club. The penalties could include a substantial fine, an ejection from RFU affiliated competitions, withdrawal of any RFU funding and deduction of league points. The panel has complete power to implement any of the above.
Yesterday we appeared before the panel to explain our case and advise on what steps we are taking to address this situation.
They listened to our explanation and the procedures we are going to implement and following lengthy deliberation they decided at this stage not to impose any further penalty.
However they have insisted that we communicate with every player, coach, manager, official, parent and supporter advising them of the seriousness of the situation and that, should the club pick up any further red cards this season, the consequences will be extremely serious.
We have three weeks left in the season and it is absolutely imperative that no member of the senior or youth sections commits any misdemeanour that could lead to a red card.
One thing we don’t want is for a player to pick up two Yellow Cards, so can we suggest that you consider replacing a player who picks up a yellow card.
It is important that all playing members understand the seriousness of the club’s current predicament and we are relying on you to make sure that we have no further incidents over the closing three weeks of this season.
I thank you in anticipation of your support and best of luck for the last three weeks of the season.
