Ampthill travel north to face Doncaster Knights with Head Coach Paul Turner naming a match day twenty three including a host of debutants.
Player Coach Richard Barrington and Samoan International James Johnston are reunited in the front row having played together at Saracens and pack down either side of young England 20’s World Cup winning hooker James Isaacs. Kennedy Sylvester partners Aidan King in the engine room whilst in the back row debutants Karl Main and Lekima Ravuvu are joined by the returning Max Eke.
Rory Morgan signed from Cardiff Met in the summer and partners captain Josh Barton in the half backs. Vice-captain Fraser Strachan is joined by South African Byron Sharwood in midfield whilst a back three of Oran McNulty, Benjy Joseland & Vereimi Qorowale have the job of getting the Mob on the front foot.
Following a final training session on Thursday evening, Paul Turner said “Its always a tough trip to Castle Park. Last season we went there and won so Doncaster will be on their guard. We’ve been looking forward to this after a long pre season. We’ve had a good pre-season culminating in four sessions last week. This game will show us where we are as a team”
