There is a feast of rugby this weekend at Dillingham Park, at 13:30 a combined Ampthill Jets/Extras team hosts Bedford Queens for a pre-season friendly, Queens making their first visit to Ampthill for some time.
At 15:15 the 1881s take on a Bedford Athletic XV in a pre-season fixture, at stake will be the Herbert Osbourne shield, traditionally awarded to the winner of the match between the two clubs held between the most senior teams to face each other each season and currently held by the Ath whose 2ndXV narrowly defeated the Extras last season.
There will be a barbecue and, with plenty of liquid refreshment on offer, a good time can be guaranteed whatever the weather.
