Our Academy
Since 2017/18, Ampthill RUFC’s Academy has been developing young players within the senior squad, aiming to produce at least three players each season ready for English Championship rugby. It provides a clear pathway from youth rugby into the senior game.
Our mission is to support players aged 18–22 in earning a semi-professional contract with Ampthill’s 1st XV. Built on Application, Dedication, Honesty, and Respect, the Academy helps turn potential into performance.

About Ampthill RUFC
Ampthill RUFC strives to be the most professional community rugby club in the country, providing a top-class player development environment through expert coaches, dedicated support staff, and committed volunteers to help players of all abilities reach their potential.
With around 200 adult members and over 400 mini and youth players, the club fields multiple teams across six adult, six youth, and seven mini sides every weekend, with many age groups earning regional or national recognition.
Over the years, numerous players have progressed from Ampthill to Championship, Premiership, and Representative Rugby — a journey strongly supported by major sponsors such as Grange, whose backing plays a vital role in the club’s ongoing success.
