After a closely fought first leg at Dillingham Park last weekend where Bedford Blues went home with their tails held high, Ampthill go to Goldington Road tomorrow in the second leg of Battle of Bedfordshire.
Ampthill give debuts to another seven players in the starting fifteen although the faces of some will be familiar to Championship Rugby fans – Charlie Beckett and Llewelyn Jones both starting at lock after moving from Gloucester and Nottingham respectively! Sam Hudson’s progress as a player and hard work for the last few season’s is rewarded with the Captain’s armband responsibility for what will be another close contest.

Paul Turner commented “We only returned to contact training the week before last week’s home game, so it will be interesting to see how we have developed with a third week under our belts.
Last weekend was really was a really valuable exercise for both squads and with local bragging rights up for grabs we will be giving it our best shot to try and get a win this weekend.
We have seven more debutants and all the players will be keen to hold their hand up for the Doncaster Knights game at Dillingham Park next weekend.
