TEAM NEWS: 1st XV v Hartpury 11/05/24

The Mob welcome old friends Hartpury University to The Olney Field in their final home game of the 2023-24 Championship season with Head Coach Paul Turner demanding “a big performance” from his squad.

“We let ourselves down last Saturday” said Turner, “we’d put together a run of performances and went into that game with the wrong mentality. We’ve had a good look at ourselves and each other this week. We want to finish the season on a high but Hartpury are always tough opponents with a very good set piece and we’ll need to win all of our individual battles to get the result we want”

Turner makes five changes to the starting XV from Ealing last week, four in the pack and one enforced change in the backs. Josh Barton picked up a knock against Ealing so Gwyn Parks returns at ten alongside Charlie Bracken. Fraser Strachan and Oli Morris continue in midfield whilst a back three that has contributed twenty eight tries this season picks itself – Brandon Jackson and Tobias Elliott on the wings with in-form Tom Bacon at full back.

In the pack, Turner rotates his props with Sam Crean and James Johnston starting this week either side of Samson Adejimi. Ollie Stonham returns to the match-day twenty three after missing the Ealing game alongside Olamide Sodeke at lock, Nathan Michelow starts again on the blindside whilst Toby Knight rotates with Izzy Moore-Aiono at seven. Club captain Morgan Strong shores up the pack again at number eight.
