The MOB traveled down to the South West on Friday night to take on Hartpury in round three of the Elior Champ Rugby season.
Following two wins in their opening two games, A’s had momentum as they prepared for their first Friday night lights.
There would be plenty of changes from last weeks win over Nottingham at Dillingham Park, Tyler Offiah and Will Roue making starts with Oscar Wilson back into the squad after his injury on the final day of last season.
It would be the hosts that would open the scoring, Caio James driving over from close range early, Harry Bazalgette missing the target with his conversion.
The MOB would respond minutes later, Efan Jones taking the ball off the back of a scrum before setting up Will Roue, who found the gap to go under the posts, 5-7.
Again the hosts would score, this time Ollie Allsopp in the corner after some pressure in the wide areas.
An end to end game, showed both sides attacking forces and it would be the visitors that scored the next two.
The first coming from Harrison Courtney, who used his strength to go over from a driving maul again converted by fly-half Roue.
Before a contender for try of the round, Roue’s chipped kick finding a chasing Fraser Rawlins, before a grubber kick from Elliot Gourlay found a tumbling Tyler Offiah who scored in the corner, 10-21.
The second-half would begin in the same fashion as the first, this time a penalty try for the hosts as Gourlay is adjudged to have prevented a try in the corner, yellow card and seven points, 17-21.
Much like before the MOB came back and showed their attacking flair, this time Tayo Adegbemile bulldozing through to score.
A busy evening in the South West wouldn’t stop there, Ollie Allsopp getting his second of the contest before a huge effort from a line-out confirmed the win on the road for the MOB.
Whilst it is an encouraging start to the season with three wins and two of those coming on the road, you can’t help thinking there is a lot more to come from this seasons squad.
