Another great season for Ampthill RUFC Under 11’s and another season showing massive improvement in all aspects of play and attitude. We started with the Peterborough tournament being played early in the season and all three of our teams that were entered showed that we had a large squad of players that were going to impress this year.
We faced  a number of good squads this year and the results were positive week after week. The players stood together through every challenge and game and gave 100% each week. This was highlighted during the recent Beds festival at Biggleswade when the two teams we entered only lost one game out of the 12 that were played between them. Our dynamic and fast style of rugby was great to watch and we were beating teams that were better than us last season. This is down to the hard work and commitment from the players and coaches in our age group.
We have had a number of new players join our squad this season and each of them have fitted in well and they have bought some great talent to the team. They joined us on their first tour experience in Great Yarmouth and they loved the trip and the exciting rugby that everyone played whilst we were away. We toured with 36 players and three squads and enjoyed the World record experience! We are non competitive in this age group but it was good to be unbeaten on tour with one of the squads not even having one try scored against them.
Our progress continues and the season is only successful down to the hard work and commitment from the players, coaches, parents and grand parents! Thank you to everyone involved with the Under 11’s this season.
