Ampthill RUFC sent two teams to the Peterborough U12s Festival on Sunday 28 Oct 2018. Both teams enjoyed playing against new opposition from seven different counties as far afield as Suffolk and Nottinghamshire. Thanks to PRUFC for organising another excellent event, and of course the players, parents and coaches for supporting it.
The weather was crisp and clear for the first round of games however rain and a cold wind appeared for the second and final rounds.
Both teams played some good, attacking rugby against decent opposition. Having been non-competitive for the past three seasons our players are relishing the chance to chase some silverware again.
The Ampthill Tigers came away with a very creditable two wins and three defeats. However, the Ampthill Lions went on to win the tournament! The Lions finished with three wins, one draw (with the crucial first try scored) and one defeat – scoring 15 tries in the process.
