With the 1st XV only pre-season friendly against Nottingham this Friday night, Head Coach Paul Turner has confirmed the clubs first new signing of the summer.
First up is a player who will need little introduction to English rugby fans – Richard “Baz” Barrington. Loosehead prop Richard spent nine seasons with club partners Saracens, making 232 appearances and winning 4 Premiership titles and 3 European Champions Cups!
He has spent the past two seasons in France with Agen but has joined the Mob as player-coach following his return to Hertfordshire!
Paul Turner comments “I’ve been well aware of Richard for a long time, I remember watching him play for Hartpury Uni as a youngster and then at Jersey! He’s had an outstanding 9 year career with Saracens and just returned from a stint in France with Agen. His playing record is as good as any at club level and he brings a huge amount of experience to our club as both a player and coach. I’m really enjoying working with him.”
