New “Jets” Coaching Team

Following announcements of new coaching teams for both the Academy and Ladies section, Community Director of Rugby Dan Phillips has confirmed the team that will lead a new look Jets/Community 1st XV for the 2024-25 season.

The group will be led by 1st XV prop James Flynn. James is currently studying towards his RFU Level 3 and brings 13 years’ experience as a professional player. James is in his second term with the club as a player following a successful spell with Jersey Reds and club partners Saracens in the Premiership.

James will be supported by Andrew Brownlee and Aldam Mills who join from Milton Keynes Rugby Club.

Andrew has been a Level 2 coach since 2015 with a background in elite team development and performance. He has a broad coaching experience fulfilling multiple roles across Colts, 3’s, 2’s, 1’s & Ladies rugby at Milton Keynes Rugby Club. Andrew is currently supporting Ampthill U16’s and is passionate about helping players to develop and to make the most out of their rugby playing experience.

Aldam is a Level 3 coach with a background at Mens’ Own, Olney, Kettering and Milton Keynes. He has coached representative rugby for East Midlands U16’s, Midlands U18’s and England Deaf Rugby and will assume the role of backs / attack coach.  He has also worked with Northampton Saints E.P.D.G, Wellingborough School and has been an RFU coach educator.

Ex 1st XV centre Jonathon ‘JJ’ Raven will support the new coaching group in an S&C capacity. JJ made 138 appearances for the Mob as part of the team that won promotion from National 3 and National 2 and now competes at world level in Kettle Bell.

Last but not least the current “Jets” management team of Leigh (ex 1st XV scrum half) and Alaine will continue in a management capacity and bring a wealth of relationships with players and knowledge of local community rugby.

The squad will compete in Herts & Middlesex League this season and preseason training will start on Weds 7th August at 7pm on Pitch 4. New and old players are welcome to train with us.
